Mamasita

Been here a couple of times now, it’s pretty consistent in terms of quality and service.

I’d recommend mamasita for a girls night out or dinner date. Wouldn’t recommend for a big group as you’ll be waiting for a table for a very long time.

We arrived just at 6 for two people on a weekday and we were seated in 1 minute! Perfect. By the time we finished our meals it was 7:30, the queue was super long, all the way down to the stairwell.

We grabbed a drink each; sangria and a mocktail: Tropicana cabana which had pineapple, orange and lime: very refreshing.

We ordered the fish taco and prawn taco, sharing for a bit of everything. Fish taco was my favourite last time I visited and it still stands to be my favourite. Recommend fish!

We also had some BBQ octopus to share. It didn’t mention chilli on the menu, but it did have a kick to it, watch out for the red dressing. It’s beautiful but a kick of chilli afterwards. If it said chilli, i wouldn’t have ordered it, but now that i’ve tried it, its delicious and would recommend for those who can only take a bit of spice! Fresh dish and lovely puree at the bottom.

Dessert was corn ice cream, we asked for the ice cream and corn to be separate, because it was hard to share with a cone – sweet corn icecream
